Hope And Care: Helping Dozens of Lives a Day

Helping dozens of lives a day

Inspired by her little girls passing, co-founder Mona Salem set out to continue her daughter’s legacy, through helping children and adults who have disabilities, helping them from everyday life to achieving their goals. This is Hope and Care.

Hope and Care was co-founded by Mona Salem in April of 2019, although being a grassroots company their story is already so rich. Her daughter Sarah at the age of ten, unfortunately, passed away, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of helping people when they needed it most. She even wrote a note to a disabled boy to give him hope and love, and sadly was never able to give it to him. Mona decided to continue her daughters legacy of love and care and changing the lives of who needs it most.

Hope and Care was founded on integrity, and instead of charging huge rates to help out those in need, Hope and Care provides more experiences for lower rates, and are registered providers of NDIS, an insurance scheme dedicated to helping the 4.3 million people in Australia who have a disability the NDIS will provide about 460,000 Australians aged under 65, who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services, and Hope and Care will be part of that process.

“I love my job, I love making an impact on people that we help.”

– Mona Salem

Hope and Care assist people in many ways, here are just some of the ways they help people:

  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, personal care i.e showering, dressing
  • Community participation such as movies, expos, fishing, bowling
  • Community nursing care
  • Assisting in travel and transport such as taking them to hospital appointments, shopping, or just the everyday commute.

Mona wants to expand the company helping as many people as possible “when people think of hope and care, I want them to have that warm and fuzzy feeling knowing they are receiving genuine support” Mona comments. Hope and Care want to create community events, charities and give back to the community that supported her and her children in their times of need.

Buddy Bench in memory of Sarah

Sarah’s friends created the buddy bench at school in memory of Sarah a good friend to all who knew her, which allowed many children to feel supported when they needed it. Mona is doing the same with her business Hope and Care, to support and love people in their everyday life. I heard Mona’s story and I knew I had to get involved and do as much as I could to help out this incredible company, to help spread love and care throughout the communities of Australia. I’m excited to see where Hope and Care take us!

“Hope and Care allows me to feel like Sarah is still here, spreading her magic through me” – Mona Salem
